Jumbangla Desk: An old man named Abul Hashim (65) died after being punched by a young man in a quarrel over Imamat of Netrakona. The matter was confirmed by the officer in charge of Purbadhala police station. Riyad Mahmud.

The incident took place during Fajr prayers at Baitul Aman Jame Masjid in Jatiabar Madhyapara of Agiya Union on Tuesday (September 24).

According to local and police sources, his son Azizul Haque led the imam during Fajr prayers on Tuesday, as Shamim Hossain, the appointed imam of the mosque, was on leave. Shahjahan objected to leading prayers. Instead of praying behind Azizul, he prayed alone in the balcony. After the prayer, Shahjahan (35) got excited and went to beat Azizul. At this time, Abul Hashim went to stop the quarrel. Abul Hashim died on the spot when Shah Jahan punched him.

The officer in charge of Purbadhala police station confirmed the matter. Riyad Mahmud said that the body has been sent for autopsy.
