Last year, RAB arrested these 32 people from different parts of Bandarban on the charge of training and carrying out terrorist activities in the hideouts of the armed organization Kuki China National Front (KNF).

They were accused of receiving training at Kuki China National Front (KNF) hideouts and carrying out militant activities in various places. When the operation of the security forces started in the hills to suppress the terrorist activities of KNF, at that time RAB conducted an operation and arrested them. Among those arrested was Jamaatul Ansar Phil Hindal Sharqiya's trainer and an important person in the finance wing, RAB told the media at that time.

Defendant's lawyer. Alamgir Chowdhury said that they were detained from different parts of the country without any crime and were arrested on charges of militant involvement. The court granted bail as no evidence of militant involvement was found against them.

Incidentally, in 2022, armed organization Kuki Chin National Front (KNF) started inactivity in Bandarban. Jamaatul Ansar Phil Hindal Sharqiya members were accused of receiving training in exchange of money in their hostel.

On August 9, 2023, a notification was issued by the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs banning Jamaatul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya. It is said that it appears to the government that the declared activities of the militant organization Jamaatul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya are against the peace and order of the country. In the meantime, as the activities of the organization are considered as a threat to public safety, its activities have been banned in Bangladesh.
