Jumbangla Desk: 5 owners of Bashundhara, the country's top industrial group, have shown wealth of 1.5 billion rupees in the income tax documents. The richest among them is Sadat Sobhan, eldest son of Bashundhara founder Ahmed Akbar Sobhan. And Saim Sobhan Anvir owes more. None of them have a personal car. NBR's central intelligence agency CIC's preliminary investigation has revealed these facts.

Bashundhara is one of the largest industrial groups in the country. The family-owned group has expanded investments in various sectors including housing, consumer goods, energy. Where thousands of workers are working. However, the Sheikh Hasina government's laziness to cover up various irregularities is alleged against the founder of Bashundhara, Ahmed Akbar Sobhan.

After the fall of the Hasina government, the police intelligence agency CID and the CIC of the National Board of Revenue NBR started investigating the assets of Bashundhara owners. The detectives reviewed the income tax documents of Ahmed Akbar Sobhan and his 4 sons.

Detectives said that Sadat Sobhan is the richest among father and 4 sons. The amount of assets is one quarter seven hundred crore rupees. Safwan Sobhan is in the second position. The third father is Akbar Sobhan. Anvir Sobhan is fourth in wealth and Safiyat Sobhan is fifth.

Sayem Sobhan Anvir is the most indebted of the five. Debt is Tk 382 crore. Sadat Sobhan has no debt. The debt of the remaining three people is around one hundred and fifty crore rupees.

They spend 23 crore rupees a year to run the family. Safiyat and Safwan are ahead of the cost. Both cost more than 15 crore rupees. Father Ahmed Akbar Sobhan is lagging behind in family expenses. Photos of Bashundhara owners' luxury cars often go viral on social media. However, all of these are in the name of the company.

In this regard, the former tax commissioner said. Asaduzzaman said, 'The remuneration he gets from the company is Tk 50 lakh per month. But it was seen in the file that it shows 10 lakhs or 5 lakhs. They are really big fees. They neither had the guts to do anything in their income tax files nor the scope to do anything.'

All except Sadat have shown huge amount of land in income tax documents. The price of these lands has been estimated at around three hundred million rupees.
