Main accused arrested in Tongi murder case

Jahangir is the son of Ramzan Ali of Kayempur village of Khansama upazila of Dinajpur. He used to live on rent in Shaheen's house in Mirashpara area of ​​Tongi.

Gazipur Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (Crime, South) told this information in a press conference organized at Tongi East Police Station on Tuesday afternoon. Alamgir Hossain.


It was informed in the press conference that on September 15, around 1 am, locals saw Idris and some of his friends sitting in an abandoned room in East Arichpur Bhuiyanpara area. The next morning, seeing the bloodied body of Idris in that room, the police were informed. The police went and recovered the body and took it to the police station. Ershad Hossain, the younger brother of Idris, filed a murder case at Tongi East police station as a plaintiff in this incident.


According to the police, Idris Ali and Jahangir were two friends. Jahangir was interrogated after his arrest on Tuesday morning. Jahangir admitted in the preliminary interrogation of the police that the murder took place due to a dispute over owed money. Jahangir will be remanded to the court for questioning.

Tongi East Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Mamunur Rashid and Inspector (Investigation) Rafiqul Islam were present at the press conference.
