Sharmin did not agree to give a direct answer to the question whether Sagar is in the viral video or not. However, Sagar used to stay around that place often, he said.

Last Saturday, the video of Shahadat being beaten was spread on Facebook. In the 20-second video, Shahadat is seen tied to two poles under the flyover. At this time, a group of young people are beating him by singing. Sharmin Akhter confirmed to the police on Saturday night that the person who was beaten up in the video was martyred. Shahadat was a van driver in Falmondi area.

Md. Shahadat Hossain's ancestral home is in Nadna village of Panchbaria union under Sonaimuri police station of Noakhali district. He lived with his wife and mother in the boiler colony of BRTC area under Kotwali police station in the city. Everyone there confirmed the martyrdom of the beaten victim in the video.
