Jumbangla Desk: The chief advisor of Bangladesh, Dr. Muhammad Yunus held a bilateral meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session.

Both leaders discussed immigration during the meeting. At the same time more number of Bangladeshis to legally go to Italy and get the opportunity to work called Dr. Yunus.


This information was reported by the Indian news agency ANI on Wednesday (September 25).

Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said, 'Our Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, where they discussed the migrant issue.'


He also said, 'Many Bangladeshis take the risky route to go to Italy illegally, so Dr. Yunus said to seek legitimate or legal means. So that more Bangladeshis can go and work in Italy.'

In this regard, the Chief Advisor has also assured Meloni of support from the Bangladesh government.


Meanwhile, Dr. met with US President Joe Biden on Tuesday. Muhammad Yunus. At this time, Biden expressed his 'full support' to the Bangladesh government.

Yunus told Joe Biden about the courageous role of students against all kinds of oppression during the previous government and their important contribution in the reconstruction of Bangladesh. He later addressed a reception organized at the United Nations Headquarters to celebrate 50 years of Bangladesh's membership in the United Nations.


The previous day, Professor Yunus had a bilateral meeting with US President Joe Biden in New York.

This is the first time in the history of Bangladesh that a US President has met a head of government of Bangladesh on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session.
