In an official message on Tuesday, the Indian cricket governing body BCCI removed these three stars from the second Test squad. It said, 'Dhruv Giral and Yash Dayal have been called up to the Rest of India squad and will be confirmed for the second Test match against Bangladesh in Kanpur subject to their absence.'

Earlier on Monday, Indian media PTI reported that Sarfraz Khan is getting a place in the Ranji Trophy winning Mumbai team. That was confirmed in the same statement on Tuesday. Where it is said, Sarfraz Khan, who was called up to the Indian squad for the second Test, will be released to play for Mumbai.

With Sarfaraz and Dhruv Jharal out, the team management may have at least some concern about replacing regular wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant if required. However, according to multiple sources, the team management wants to see Lokesh Rahul behind the wicket if necessary. In this case the absence of Sarfraz or Dhruv Jhalal will not affect.

Many famous faces of India will play for both teams in this Irani Cup match. The Mumbai team is captained by former Indian Test captain Ajinkya Rahane. The team will include stars like Shreyash Iyer, Sarfaraz Khan, Mushir Khan, Shams Mulani and Shardul Thakur. However, Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dubey were not kept in the squad. Both will be in the T20 squad against Bangladesh.
