Jumbangla Desk: Despite not winning any match, Bangladesh reached the semi-finals of SAFF U-17 Championship. Maldives and Bangladesh had equal points in Group 'A'.

As a result, Bangladesh's chances of playing in the semi-finals depended on the India-Maldives match. India beat Maldives there by a big margin. And Bangladesh entered the last four by leading by goal difference.

India secured a 3-0 win over Maldives today (September 24) at the Changlimithang Stadium in Bhutan. With this victory, they became group champions and entered the last four. On the other hand, Bangladesh without winning any match has become the group runner-up in the semi-finals with one point.

Bangladesh started the tournament with a 1-0 loss to India. Red-green representatives drew with Maldives in their second match. Maldives lost by more margin than Bangladesh against India. Even with the same points as Bangladesh, they were knocked out of the group stage as they were behind on goal difference.

Group 'A' runners-up Bangladesh will face the 'B' group champions in the last four match. Bhutan and Pakistan are in the race to be the best in Group 'B', with 4 points each. Nepal is in third place with 3 points.
