It has been reported that the victim is a student who is the daughter of a resident of a village in Pahariakandi Union. As usual on Monday morning he leaves home to study privately with a teacher near the school. When he reached the school at around 7 am, Rabiul, who was already taking a bath, held a knife to his throat and took him to a secluded place near the school. At that time, he tried to rape the student and if he failed, he tried to kill her. On hearing the screams of the girl, the people around rushed to arrest Rabiul with a knife and beat him up.

A person named Obaidullah said that around 7:30 a.m., a friend of his said that a school girl was forcibly taken by a boy towards the forest. Later some went there and rescued the girl. At that time, the accused was arrested with a knife and handed over to the law enforcement agencies.

Confirming the truth of the incident, the headmaster of the school, Abdul Karim, demanded severe punishment for the accused.

Bancharampur Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Sujan Chandra Pal said that while a student was going to private school, a drug-addicted person grabbed her from the school and took her to the nearby bush. The victim's family has alleged that they attempted to rape and kill her. The accused has been arrested.
