Jumbangla Desk: The police arrested the son on the charge of hiding the body in the septic tank after killing his father by strangulation in Delduar, Tangail. On Tuesday, the police recovered the body of the old man from his house in Mangalhor village of Patrail union of the upazila. Deceased Shamsul Mia (75) was a document writer by profession. His only son is Sattar Mia.

The deceased's nephew Lebu Mia said that the uncle (Shamsul Alam) was missing since last Friday night. Together, Sattar Mia, the only son, also disappeared from home. After much searching we did a general diary at Delduar police station on Monday without finding the uncle. Later, the police visited the spot. Sattar's phone was opened at night and we asked him to come home. When he came home at night, the locals detained Sattar and interrogated him. In his confession, he said that he killed his father and left the body in the septic tank. Later the police came and recovered the body and arrested the accused Sattar Mia.

Sattar Mia said, My father separated my family. I can't manage my family properly. I go to my father's room when I get hungry around 2 am on Saturday. Dad asks why I came home. Then ask him for money. When he refused to pay, I had an argument with him. At one point, sit on top of him and hold his throat with his hands. He died after being strangled with a veil. Scared, I left the body in the septic tank and ran away.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Delduar Police Station Swaib Khan said that the police recovered the body and sent it to Tangail Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Accused Sattar has been arrested. He is being interrogated.
