Jumbangla Desk: Two shops were burnt down by cigarette fire in Baklia of Chittagong city. In the fire, the two shop owners have lost about 5 lakh rupees.
The fire broke out around 5 am on Wednesday (September 25) in Boger Beel area of Baklia.
Mohammad Saif, duty officer of Chandanpura fire station, said, 'A steel goods shop and a hardware shop were burnt in the fire. About two owners have suffered a loss of about 5 lakh rupees.

'The fire started from a cigarette fire in the junk shop around 5 am. Later it spread to the neighboring shops. On receiving the information, a fire service unit brought the fire under control in an hour. At this time, the fire fighters recovered goods worth 15 lakh taka' - said Mohammad Saif.
