Jumbangla Desk: The forensic doctor said that the student Abu Saeed, who was killed during the anti-discrimination student movement at Gate No. 1 of Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur, died due to bullet injury.

Abu Said

Rajibul Islam, Assistant Professor of Forensic Medicine Department of Rangpur Medical College Hospital confirmed this to the journalists. He completed the autopsy of Abu Saeed's body.

On July 16, Abu Saeed was killed when the police opened fire on the student protest during the anti-discrimination student movement. His body was taken to Rangpur Medical for post-mortem. There was no internal bleeding on Abu Saeed's head. He didn't even have any broken bones or fractures in his head. Recently, a copy of his post-mortem report was circulated on social media. Many cited the report as claiming that Abu Saeed died of head injuries. Dr. talked about this in detail. Rajibul Islam.

Dr. Rajibul Islam said, 'Nowhere in the autopsy report did I mention that Abu Saeed died due to head injury. He had head injuries but that was not the cause of his death. Abu Saeed's body was bleeding internally and his internal organ structure was damaged due to numerous bullet injuries.'

'Furthermore, you saw that Saeed fell with his hand on his right leg. He was hit by a bullet in his right thigh. There is also internal bleeding due to damage to the femoral artery. I also got bullet injuries and bleeding in lower abdomen. Abu Saeed died due to shock and bleeding due to these injuries. I found a mark on his head. The injury may be from a fall or impact, such as a bruise. It did not appear to be a major head injury. Death from a head injury would have resulted in brain haemorrhage, which was not the case with Saeed. Nowhere in the report is it said that there is bleeding or fracture in the brain, we have examined his whole body. Abu Saeed's post-mortem report was pressured to include a head injury, to make it public that he died of a head injury.'

Dr. Rajibul Islam said, 'The autopsy report has been changed several times under pressure. Finally, the report was submitted and accepted on July 30. The report spread on social media is just an attempt to tarnish the image of the doctors concerned in the forensic department across the country. But I have mentioned exactly what I have observed. The then Police Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan. Forensic doctor Rajibul said that the report was submitted to Moniruzzaman, it is now a judicial matter and he will explain it to the court. I will give my statement to the court about the autopsy report.'

He also said, 'Abu Saeed's body reached the morgue of Rangpur Medical Hospital for post-mortem around 7 pm. Later, there was an attempt to hide among the members of the law and order forces. After preparing the report on the condition of Abu Saeed's body under the leadership of the magistrate, we started the postmortem on July 16 around 11 pm. During that critical situation in the country, it was not possible to form a board for post-mortem investigation. There was a shortage of manpower. He claimed that at that time Saeed's body was being buried from various departments. He discussed these issues with the principal of the medical college.

Dr. Rajibul said, 'They (law enforcement forces) demanded that the post-mortem report should focus on the issue of head injuries. The police have tempted and intimidated me to accept the report. Without understanding the report of Abu Saeed's autopsy, without knowing the medical terms, confusion is being created through social media.

Meanwhile, on July 29, the postmortem report was submitted to the court by the head of forensic department of Rangpur Medical College. Rajibul Islam. He said, 'I have already submitted the postmortem report to the court. Then I will tell the truth in the court.'

Dr. Assistant Professor of Forensic Medicine. When Rajibul Islam was called on his mobile phone on Tuesday (September 24) night, his phone was switched off.
