The Flood Forecasting and Warning Center has given a glimpse of inundation of the lower and pasture areas of the Teesta basin. However, the water of the rivers of Chittagong division including Matamuhuri and Sangu rivers may decrease.

He said that the water will increase, among which the water will increase more in Rangpur; However, the chances of flooding are low. However, in the next three days, the lower areas of Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari, Rangpur and Char areas may be flooded in the Teesta basin.
According to the regular weather bulletin, the water level of Teesta, Dharla and Dudhkumar rivers may rise rapidly due to heavy rain in Rangpur division and its adjacent upstream for the next three days. At present, the waters of the Brahmaputra and its downstream Yamuna rivers are receding in Rangpur and flowing below Vipatseema. The water in these rivers may remain stable for the next two days and may increase in the next three days. Besides, the waters of Teesta river in Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari, Rangpur and Kurigram districts may flow within the warning limit, while the water of Dharla and Dudhkumar rivers in Kurigram district may flow below the warning limit.
The bulletin also said that the water in Gomti, Muhuri, Halda and Feni rivers of Chittagong division is increasing. However, the waters of the Sangu and Matamuhuri rivers are receding and flowing below the flood line. There is a trend of heavy rain in Chittagong division and its adjacent upstream for the next 24 hours. As a result, the water of Gomti, Halda, Feni and Muhuri rivers may rise, but may flow below the warning line. On the other hand, the water in Matamuhuri and Sangu rivers may decrease in the next 24 hours. The trend of heavy rain is likely to subside in the next 2 days, which may reduce river water in Chittagong division.
According to Purbavas Kendra's bulletin, the waters of Surma and Kushiara rivers in Sylhet division are receding and flowing below the Bipatseema. However, there is a trend of heavy rain in Sylhet division and its adjacent upstream for the next 2 days. Surma and Kushiara rivers may rise at a slower rate during this time, but may flow below the flood line. In the next 24 hours, the water of Surma and Kushiara rivers may decrease. Khoai and Dhalai rivers are rising, while Manu, Sarigoain, Jadukata, Someswari and Bhugai-Kongsh rivers are stable and flowing below the Vipatsima. The water of these rivers in Sylhet division may increase in the next 2 days, but may flow below the danger line. In the next 24 hours, the water of these rivers in Sylhet division may decrease.
The bulletin also said that the coastal or tidal rivers of Barisal and Khulna divisions are seeing normal tides. However, a low pressure has formed over west-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas and heavy rains are likely over coastal areas during the next 24 hours. At this time, the coastal rivers of Barisal and Khulna divisions may have higher than normal tides. Besides, the water of Ganga river and its downstream Padma river in Rajshahi division is rising and flowing below Bipatseema. Ganga-Padma river water may remain stable in next 24 hours and water may recede slowly in next 4 days.
