BSF member detained, Bangladesh did not respond to India's protest

Jumba Bangla Desk: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has arrested a member of the Indian Border Guard Force BSF for trespassing in the Chanderhat border area of Pirganj Upazila of Thakurgaon. BGB 42 Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Ahsanul Islam confirmed this to the media on Tuesday afternoon. Later, however, Bangladesh returned the BSF member.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday (September 25), the Indian media The Hindu reported that the BSF termed the detention of the force members as a 'serious breach of border security'. The force claimed that one of its members on patrol duty was abducted by 15 to 20 Bangladeshi miscreants who entered India. Later he was arrested by members of Bangladesh's Border Guard Force (BGB).
In this regard, The Hindu also reported that Bangladesh is yet to respond to a protest note by the BSF regarding the abduction by the miscreants and then the detention by the BGB.
A senior BSF officer said that the BSF member was unarmed at the time of the incident. Because India follows 'zero firing' policy on Bangladesh border. BGB released the BSF member around 4 pm after the incident took place around 10:30 am on Tuesday.
The BSF has said in this regard that they have condemned the aggression and issued a formal protest against the activities of Bangladeshi miscreants. The BSF has called on the BGB to ensure that Bangladeshi citizens do not get involved in such illegal activities.
According to local and BGB sources in Bangladesh, BSF member Upal Kumar Das entered Bangladesh through sub-pillar number 6 of main pillar number 434 of Pirganj border of Thakurgaon around 11:00 am on Tuesday. At that time the members of 42 BGB's Chanderhat camp arrested him. BSF member Upal Kumar was in uniform but unarmed. BGB members brought him to the camp after his arrest.
