International Desk: The festival of Durga Puja will not be complete without Hilsa. Taking advantage of this sentiment of Indians, some of the country's media criticized the economic weakness of Bangladesh. In view of repeated requests from the highest level of India, Dhaka has agreed to export a small amount of hilsa as a courtesy.

But this issue has been highlighted as 'Bangladesh's economic situation is very bad, so some Indian media outlets are exporting hilsa to India in the hope of earning some extra dollars'.

At first, the Bangladesh government said that hilsa will not be exported to India like other years. Bangladesh Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Water Resources Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan and Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhtar confirmed this information.

After this announcement, cries started in different states of India. Special requests for hilsa export also come from the higher levels of India. Later, on September 22, when the Bangladesh government announced the export of hilsa to India on a limited scale, the hilsa lovers of India got relief.

However, some media in India have highlighted this issue as proof of Bangladesh's economic weakness. India's Hindustan Times wrote in their news that the condition of Bangladesh's reserves is very bad. And that is why hilsa is being exported to India in the hope of extra dollars . They quoted Syeda Rizwana Hasan as saying, 'Hilsa is being exported to India, not as a gift'. That is, Bangladesh is exporting hilsa to India in exchange of money.

Hindustan Times also wrote, the amount of dollars that will come from the export of hilsa is not at all ridiculous.

It should be noted that Bangladesh could have exported hilsa earlier if it had thought of earning dollars by exporting hilsa. But the advisers of the present government repeatedly said that it can be exported only after meeting the needs of the people of the country. But Dhaka has to hear the opposite after agreeing to export hilsa after repeated requests.
