Hotel boy arrested for demanding money by sending personal photos on mobile phone

Jumbangla Desk: Mirpur Model Thana Police has arrested a hotel worker on the charge of secretly recording personal photos and videos and sending them to mobile phones for extortion. There is a case against him under the Pornography Control Act. This information was informed in a press release of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Wednesday (September 25).

It said that he was arrested on Tuesday (September 24) from his home in Muktagacha, Mymensingh. At that time, the mobile phone containing personal photos and videos was also recovered from him.

The notification also said that in July this year, a couple came to Dhaka to visit and stayed at a hotel in Shah Ali Bagh. The boy of this hotel secretly took naked pictures and videos of his wife while taking a bath in the afternoon. About a month later, he sent the picture and video to the victim's mobile phone and demanded 30,000 taka. If the demanded money is not paid, he threatens to spread it through social media. In view of the complaint of the victim in this incident, a case was filed under the Pornography Control Act at the Mirpur Model Police Station on September 17.

At one stage of the investigation of the case, with the help of intelligence and technology, the location of the hotel boy was confirmed and he was arrested.
