Jumbangla Desk: Every year, the admission program for government and private schools starts from November. Like last year, this time too, the application for admission of students from first to ninth class in government and private schools is on November 16. Which will continue till December 6.
Admission to government and private schools
The 44 government secondary schools in Dhaka city will be divided into three different groups in the case of government school applications. A student can select up to five schools in a group at the time of application. From here a school will be selected through lottery.
In case of double shift organization, both the shifts will be considered completed if both the shifts are selected. The same choice of school or shift cannot be chosen a second time. And in the case of private schools, in the case of private secondary schools in Dhaka city, at least one and maximum three administrative police stations adjacent to the institution can be determined as catchment area.
Besides, at the time of application, the organization will get the list of educational institutions in metropolitan area of divisional headquarter and Sadar upazila of district headquarter for metropolitan level. In this case, candidates can select up to five schools in order of preference in each application based on availability. In case of double shift organization, both shifts will be considered completed if both shifts are completed. The same choice of school or shift cannot be chosen a second time.
The meeting will be held on Thursday (September 26) in the meeting room of the ministry. It is said that a decision may be taken on the method of admission of students to the school in the meeting.
Earlier on Wednesday, a circular signed by Secondary and Higher Education Department Deputy Secretary Syed A Z Morshed Ali said that a meeting will be held in the conference room of the Ministry of Education on Thursday (September 26) to amend the policy of admission to private secondary schools. Director General of Maushi, Additional Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Department, Representative of Dhaka Divisional Commissioner, a Joint Secretary of Maushi, one of the Deputy Secretary/Senior Assistant Secretaries, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka, Director of College and Administration Department of Maushi, Director of Secondary Division, Deputy Director, Dhaka Regional Deputy Director, Dhaka District Education Officer has been asked to be present.
Besides, the principals of the educational institutions will include the principal of Dhaka Residential Model College, the principal of Vikarunnisa Noon School and College, the principal of Manipur High School and College and the principal of St. Gregory's High School and College.
There are 9 lakh 40 thousand 876 seats in 2 thousand 961 private schools across the country. And there are 80 thousand 91 seats in 405 government schools. Due to the corona epidemic, from 2021 students are admitted through lottery from first to ninth class.
