Jumbangla Desk: Two teachers of Muslim Uddin High School in Rangpur city have been temporarily suspended by the administration for ordering Hindu female students to come to school wearing hijab.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rabiul Faisal told reporters that this decision was taken in a meeting that afternoon after some students protested on Wednesday.

On Thursday, he said, two teachers of Muslim Uddin High School had told Hindu girls to wear hijab. This created tension among the students of the Hindu community in the school.

As a result, Mofizur Rahman, the head teacher of the school and Mostafizur Rahman, the teacher of religion, were immediately suspended in this incident. An investigation committee has been formed in this regard. However, both the teachers have denied the allegations
leveled against them .

It is learned that recently in a school assembly, students complained that the headmaster and religion teacher ordered Muslim girls as well as Hindu girls to come to school wearing hijab.

They protested in the school campus last Wednesday. This created tension in the school as well as locally.

Later the school management committee, political leaders, Hindu community leaders and parents went and brought the situation under control.

Denying the allegations, head teacher Mofizur Rahman said, 'The incident of girls wearing hijab in my school is a conspiracy.

We said in the assembly, girls you will come in school dress with scarf. We never talked about wearing hijab.' He demanded to investigate the incident properly and take action in this regard.
