Jumbangla Desk: Allegations have been made against Chhatra Shibir for attacking Chhatra Dal leaders and activists in Chittagong College. Five leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal were injured in this incident. Chhatra Shibir has denied the allegations of attack.

The incident took place on Thursday (September 26) at the Chittagong College campus.

The injured Chhatra Dal workers are Saiful Karim Arian, Shariful Islam Abir, Naeem Bhuiya, Shoaibul Islam and Ashraf. They are undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College (CHMEC) Hospital.

According to Chhatra Dal leaders and activists, Chhatra Dal activist Ashraf Uddin, a fourth year student of sociology department, went to Chittagong College around 12 noon on Thursday. Leaders and activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir stopped Ashraf's movement in the college premises. He was beaten and expelled from the campus. Later, at 3 pm, 10 activists of Chhatra Dal went to the principal of the college with a written complaint about the beating. While coming out with complaints, the leaders and activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir went and attacked again. It has been alleged that the leaders and activists of Chittagong Nagar (North) student camp led the beating.

Chittagong College Student Union Convenor Safrash Nuri Sizzy said Ashraf Uddin, a fourth year student of Chittagong College Sociology Department, was beaten up by some people posing as the student camp leader and kicked out from the campus. Later we told the matter to the principal over the phone. He advised us to make a written complaint. On our way back with a written complaint, 1 to 150 people attacked us. At that time they had sticks in their hands.

However, Fakhrul Islam, president of Chittagong North Branch Student Camp, denied the allegations of attack. He said, I am in Dhaka. I heard that Chhatra Dal leaders and activists formed a group and went to threaten the principal. Later, after leaving the college, someone from Devpahar had a problem with them outside the gate.
