Jumbangla Desk: A housewife (22) was accused of gang-rape by taking her two nieces and nephews from the Madrasa in Comilla's Barura. The victim woman said that she was threatened to make a video of the rape and spread it on the internet not to tell anyone about the incident.
On Thursday (September 26) afternoon, the police arrested one of the three accused in the incident. The arrested young man's name is Md. Rubel (28). He is a resident of Adda area of the upazila. The other two accused in this incident are - Md. of the same area. Manik (33) and Md. Bappi (25). According to the police, during the initial interrogation, Rubel admitted to the gang-rape after picking up the woman.
Earlier, this incident took place at a fish farm on the north side of Adda Bazar in Barura upazila on Tuesday afternoon. On the following day, Wednesday night, the victim of the incident filed a case with the police station as a plaintiff, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Barura Police Station Kazi Nazmul Haque.
In the statement of the case, the victim woman mentioned that she had visited her father's house in a village along with her husband's house a few days ago. On Tuesday afternoon, he went to a madrasa to bring home his niece (6) and niece (4). When the madrasa was closed, the two children were waiting for an autorickshaw to return to the Adda area. At that time the three young men came and asked his name and address. At this time, one took the two children to the other side by showing the temptation of buying chocolates. The other two grabbed the housewife's face and took her to a fish farm near Adda Bazar and raped her multiple times. They locked the two children in an uninhabited house nearby.
The statement also mentions that the rapists recorded the rape videos on their mobile phones. Later, he threatened that the video would be made viral on Facebook if he told anyone about the incident.
Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Barura Police Station Kazi Nazmul Haque said that the accused had no relationship with the victim woman before. On the way home from madrasa with two children, three lustful friends picked up the woman and raped her. Rubel, who was arrested in this incident, admitted the truth of the allegations during the initial interrogation. He also said that police operations are continuing to nab the other two accused.
