He said, "This untimely death of Lt. Tanjim in the attack of miscreants is an irreparable loss not only for the army but also for the country." The solitary killing of Lt. Tanjim Charoar will be exemplary trial.'
The adviser said these things to the mediapersons after meeting the family members of martyred Lt. Tanzim Charwar at the Army Multipurpose Complex in Dhaka Cantonment on Thursday.
Expressing condolences on behalf of the interim government, advisor Nahid Islam said that Tanzim will live as a symbol of patriotism to the youth of Charwar. This young and talented officer of the Bangladesh Army, who is the guardian of peace, order and sovereignty of the country, has sacrificed his life to protect the life and property of the people.
He said that the young army officers played a strong role in the July coup. They refused to fire on the innocent student crowd. They stood for the people and from that place of responsibility the army is working for the country. Apart from protecting the country, they are also doing the work of maintaining law and order.
He mentioned that to preserve the memory of Tanzim Charwar, the state will take initiative to do something at his birth place in Tangail.
In response to a question from media workers, what other steps are being taken to ensure the punishment of those involved in Tanzim's murder, the advisor said, 'We will ensure the strictest punishment for this murder. The whole matter is under investigation. It cannot be said before the investigation whether there is anything more to it. However, whoever is involved in this incident will be prosecuted.
Pointing out that all the illegal weapons of the country will be recovered as soon as possible, he said, no matter how many obstacles there are, our law enforcement forces and joint forces are working diligently to ensure public safety and law and order situation.
At that time, Sarwar Jahan Delwar, father of Shaheed Lieutenant Tanzim Charwar, mother, sister and niece were present along with senior officers of the army.
It is to be noted that on September 24, Army officer Lt. Tanjim Charwar Nirjan was killed by robbers in East Maijpara area of Dulahazara Union of Chakaria Upazila of Cox's Bazar.
