In that condition, he had to stay under water for a long time while shooting. Due to which he was infected with influenza and pneumonia. Which took him close to life and death!

In the interview, he also said that Kate was also asked to wear a wetsuit on the shooting set. But she refused to wear it and decided to quit the movie. But later the producer James Cameron convinced him not to leave the movie!
