This was informed in a press release of the Meteorological Department on Thursday.
According to it, the eclipse will start at 9:43:60 PM Bangladesh local time and will end at 3:16:54 PM.
The notification also informed that the eclipse will not be seen in Bangladesh. However, the eclipse will be visible in Polynesia, Mexico, South America, Antarctica and Georgia.
Note that the Earth revolves around the Sun while the Moon revolves around the Earth. When the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun for a period of time, it is called a solar eclipse.
In this case, when the sun is partially covered by the moon, it is called a partial solar eclipse. When the sun goes completely behind the moon, it is called a total solar eclipse.
On the other hand, an annular solar eclipse refers to the shadow of the moon falling on the sun. But it cannot completely cover the sun. A ring of red light can be seen around it.
This type of solar eclipse occurs when all but the outermost region of the Sun is covered by the Moon. That is, only the outer boundary of the sun can be seen from the earth. It looks like a ring. It is also called the ring of fire. This type of solar eclipse is the least visible. Because for this eclipse, the distance between the Earth and the Sun and the Moon needs to be fixed.
So many superstitions about solar eclipse
There are many superstitions in our society around solar eclipse. If the pregnant mother eats anything while taking it, the child becomes gluttonous. If something is cut during this time, especially if a fish is cut, a child will be born with a cut lip, cut ear or cut nose. It is also said that if a branch of a tree is broken or bent during a solar eclipse, a child with bent limbs (polio) is born. Do not eat during intake, ready food should be thrown away.
Even showing acceptance is forbidden to many. Perhaps for fear of Rahu or the dragon swallowing the sun, such a measure was taken to avoid the snakes of shadow ripples. As we know today, an eclipse occurs because the moon comes between the sun and the earth. So the birth of any harmful germs, the effect of any special rays etc. are inevitable.
