The incident happened on Saturday (September 28) around 12:30 PM.

Colonel Md. Ashraful Haque, captain and director of Satkhira 33 BGB battalion, said that two Indian nationals broke the gates of Ghojadanga ICP in India and Bhomra ICP in Bangladesh while driving at a reckless speed from Bhomra ICP in Satkhira.

At that time, a patrol team of BGB led by Naik Md Jihad Hossain on duty at the check post intercepted them and arrested the two Indian nationals with a pickup while intoxicated.

As the arrested driver and his assistant were under the influence of excessive drug consumption, initial interrogation revealed incoherence in their speech.

Later they were taken to Satkhira Battalion headquarters. After the intoxication subsided, they were found to be Prakash Sarkar (39), son of Suranjan Sarkar, and Dilu Sarkar (20), son of Vidhu Sarkar, of Gauranganagar village, New Town police station, North 24 Parganas district, India.

In this regard, a flag meeting was held between BGB Bhomra Company Commander and BSF Gojadanga Company Commander at 1:30 PM on September 28.

In the meeting, BGB Bhomra Company Commander Subedar Afzal Hossain said that after crossing the security fence of BSF, the Indian citizen entered Bangladesh by breaking the crossing gate at the zero point of Bhomra land port. Meanwhile, crossing gate, 3 road dividers, bamboo mill check post gate, 1 motorcycle and 1 easy bike were damaged at zero point of Bhomra land port.

BGB strongly protested to BSF for such activities. In response, Ghojadanga Company Commander AC Naveen Kumar expressed regret to BGB.

The Indian national identified as an illegal trespasser has been handed over to the Satkhira member police station and a case has been registered. Source: Ekushey Television and NTV
