Textbook Revision and Revision Committee Abolished

Jumbangla Desk: In the face of protests from various political parties and scholarly societies, the 10-member coordination committee formed for revision and revision of textbooks has been cancelled.
This information is known from the office order signed by Yanur Rahman, senior assistant secretary of secondary and higher education department of the Ministry of Education on Saturday (September 28).
According to the office order, the memorandum of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education of the Ministry of Education on September 15 was canceled by the order of the coordination committee formed for the purpose of smooth completion and coordination of all textbook revision and revision activities prepared and printed by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB).
Earlier on September 15, the Ministry of Education formed a committee of 10 members to revise and revise textbooks. It is headed by Dr. Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Education. B M Kabirul Islam. The members of the committee are - Education Researcher Rakhal Raha, Dhaka University (DU) Physics Department Professor Kamrul Hasan Mamun, Bangla Department Professor Mohammad Azam, Sociology Department Associate Professor Samina Lutfa Nitra, Primary and Mass Education Ministry Additional Secretary Masood Akhtar Khan, NCTB Chairman Professor A.K. M Riazul Hasan, Member (Education) Professor Rabiul Kabir Chowdhury and Member (Primary Education) Professor AFM Sarwar Jahan.
Moreover, senior assistant secretary of secondary and higher education department is serving as member secretary. Yanur Rahman.
It is known that Rakhal Raha, Associate Professor of DU Samina Lutfa Nitra, Professor Kamrul Hasan Mamun started various criticisms on the committee. A human chain and rally were also held in front of the press club regarding the issue. Besides, the head of As-Sunnah Foundation Sheikh Ahmadullah criticized the matter. Moreover, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Islamic Movement of Bangladesh and Khilafat Majlis objected to this.
