The government decided to cancel the holiday declared on August 15 to mark the day of National Mourning, after a nationwide debate started on how the Yunus government would celebrate the day.

The decision was taken in the first meeting of the Advisory Council of the Interim Government. Later, in a press release, it was said that the cancellation of the general holiday of August 15, declared on the occasion of the National Mourning Day, was approved in the meeting of the Advisory Council based on broad consensus in the dialogue of the political parties with the Advisory Council.

It has been reported that the government may ban or cancel the days or discourage the observance of the days that are designated by the government, such as the National Day of Mourning on August 15, or the days centered around the Sheikh family.

But it has not been finalized yet. Those concerned have also said that these days will not be canceled or discouraged by finalizing them together. They said, when the day comes up, it is known that a decision may be given by the concerned ministry about not celebrating that day.
