On the other hand, the alternative route from Garubathan through Lava, which was viable, has also become dangerous. The district administration has banned the use of that road unless necessary.

District Magistrate of Kalimpong Balasuvrahmaniyam T said that due to collapse in several places of National Highway No. 10, traffic restrictions have been imposed on that road.
