According to the British media BBC, in 2022, Jolie filed a complaint against the FBI. There, Jolie alleged, under a pseudonym, that the defamation case filed against Pitt regarding the 2016 incident was not properly investigated. Then on Wednesday (September 25), Jolie decided to drop the charges.

At that time, Jolie had complained to the FBI that the two stars were returning to the United States from France with their children on a private jet on September 14, 2016. At this point Jolie and Pitt started arguing. At one point in the argument, Pitt shoved Jolie by the neck and shook her head. Brad Pitt even misbehaved with his children at one point. One child was held by the throat, the other was held by the face. In addition, Pitt threw alcohol on Jolie and children.

Based on Jolie's complaint, the FBI and the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services began investigating the incident in 2016. In November of the same year, a spokesman for the FBI said that they had not found any involvement of Pitt in the incident, so no charges are being brought against him.
