GD of Chhatra Dal president for campaigning as married

Jumbangla Desk: Although he is single in personal life, there have been allegations of campaigning on the social media Facebook that the central president of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal Rakibul Islam is 'married'. Chhatra Dal leaders and activists are running a counter-campaign calling it rumours. However, Chhatra Dal central president has filed a general diary (GD) at Shahbagh police station informing about such embarrassing campaign.

On Friday (September 27) he appeared at the Shahbagh police station and made this GD.

Rakibul, a student of the 2006-07 academic year of Dhaka University, was appointed the central president of the Chhatra Dal on March 1. Before that, he served as the senior joint general secretary of the organization and convener of Dhaka University branch.

Rakibul said in GD, 'I am human, not Awami League.' He has been humiliated on social media by deliberately posting and approving false and defamatory information in his name through moderators from two Facebook groups named 'Aparajeya Dhaka University'. He has sought action against the moderators of these two Facebook groups.

On Thursday (September 26), a Facebook group of former and current students of Dhaka University called 'Invincible Dhaka University' was posted with a photo of Chhatra Dal president Rakibul Islam from an account named Tanya Sultana. The caption reads, 'Allah keep everyone healthy including the wife and four children of Central President of Bandhu Chhatrasanghatan Chhatra Dal.'

Meanwhile, many Chhatra Dal activists have protested the matter by calling it a 'rumour'.
