Jumbangla Desk: Bangladesh Submarine Cables Plc (BSCPLC) said that internet service may be interrupted or slowed down for four hours on Saturday (September 28).


This information was informed in a circular signed by Saidur Rahman, General Manager (Operation and Maintenance) of the organization on Friday (September 27).

It is said that C-ME-WW-5 (SMW-5) consortium of the country's second submarine cable system installed in Kuakata installed submarine cable lighting filters for a total of 4 hours from 2:00 pm on Saturday (September 28) to 6:00 am on Sunday (September 29). Plans have been taken.


The notification also said that the bandwidth services of all circuits connected to the Kuakata Landing Station through the SMDW-5 submarine cable will be suspended during this period. However, at the same time, the circuits of the C-ME-WE-4 (SMW-4) submarine cable from Cox's Bazar Landing Station will continue to operate as usual.


During the maintenance work, internet customers may experience temporary internet slowdowns or internet service disruptions.

The notification also mentioned that the authorities of BSCPLC expressed regret for this temporary inconvenience to the customers.
