69 tons in 23 trucks on Tuesday, 92 tons in 30 trucks on Thursday and 42 tons in 13 trucks after Saturday evening were exported to India.

The export price of hilsa per kg is 10 dollars. Which is Bangladeshi 1 thousand 180 taka.

Mahbubur Rahman, official of Benapole land port's fisheries inspection and quality control center, said that the hilsa export circular was a few years ago. The export price of 10 dollars per kg of hilsa has been fixed in accordance with the then market price. Hilsa is being exported according to that circular. However, the price of hilsa can be adjusted according to the domestic market price.


Rashedul Sajib Nazir, deputy director of Benapole land port, said that 410 metric tons of hilsa went to India in 7 shipments from Thursday (September 26) to Saturday (October 5) evening through Benapole.

He also said that the Ministry of Commerce has instructed the exporters to finish exporting hilsa to India by October 12. - UNB
