Own Correspondent, Gazipur: An unidentified (50) person was killed when a private car ran over him in Tongi, Gazipur. The accident took place at the Gazipura bus stand area of ​​Tongir on Saturday around 12:30 pm .

The police recovered the body and took it to the police station on Sunday (October 6) morning. The police could not identify the deceased till the time of writing this report (1 pm).

According to the police, quoting the locals, the person was standing in the Gazipura bus stand area on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway on Saturday night. At that time, a private car leaving from Gazipur hit him and he died on the spot. Later on Sunday morning, the police recovered the body and took it to the police station.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tongi East Police Station SM Mamunur Rashid said that information has been sent to the CID to identify the deceased by collecting fingerprints. Police are trying to arrest the private car and its driver. A case will be filed in this incident.
