Jumbangla Desk: A Tulkalam case was created while arresting Belal Hossain (38), the accused in the rape case of Mirzaganj, Patuakhali. Sensing the presence of the police, Belal jumped into the canal full of garbage. Immediately, the police also jumped into the water of the canal and managed to arrest him after about three hours of effort.

On Sunday (October 6) afternoon, Mirzaganj Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Shamim Ahmed confirmed this to the media.

According to local sources, the accused Belal was working on the bank of a canal in his village on Saturday afternoon. After receiving this information, Mirzaganj Thana policemen launched an operation to arrest him. Sensing the presence of the police, he jumped into the water of the canal filled with liquor. After three hours of trying, the police managed to arrest Belal from drinking.

According to police sources, the arrest of Md. Belal Hossain is accused in a rape case filed at Mirzaganj police station. A woman filed a rape case in the name of Belal Hossain and Bashir Uddin last July. The accused have been absconding since the case.

Deputy Inspector (SI) of Mirzaganj Police Station. Enamul Haque said, the accused Belal recognized us from a distance and jumped into the canal and hid in the undergrowth. He is a very clever person. It took about three hours to catch him from the wreckage.
