In an interview on the campaign trail, Democratic presidential candidate Harris said US support for Israel would depend on policy rather than personal relationships.

Regarding the US position on the recent cease-fire issue in Lebanon, Harris said Washington supports Israel in defending itself against groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah. And Israel has taken some steps under US pressure.

It is known that Netanyahu is supporting former President Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election. Although Harris has no comment in this regard. Instead, he said, the United States wants to work to increase humanitarian aid, secure prisoner releases and enforce a cease-fire, while maintaining diplomatic pressure on Israel and other regional leaders.

Asked if Netanyahu was a close friend of his, Harris shifted focus, saying the alliance between the peoples of both countries was far more important.

However, since the election is coming up, Harris is under a lot of pressure from local Muslims in the United States for supporting Israel. Because, they are disappointed that the president of his party, Joe Biden, failed to take a stand against Israel. They are in favor of taking a stronger stance against Israel.
