Two cases against 689 people including A.League leaders in Savar

At the same time, a case has been filed against 257 people, including the former chairman of Upazila Parishad and general secretary of Savar Upazila Awami League, Manjurul Alam Rajeev, in connection with the attempted murder of a student named Al Amin (22) during the anti-discrimination student movement.

Jasmin Begum, the mother of Al Amin who was shot, filed the case on Monday (October 7) as the plaintiff.

This was confirmed by OC Jewel Mian of Savar Model Police Station. He said, in the case, the accused have been accused of attempting and ordering murder.

On August 5, Al Amin was shot dead at the Mukti intersection while going towards the police station with the victory procession around 4:30 pm. Alamin, who was shot in the hand and leg, was admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital.

Apart from Rajib, the accused in the case are - Dhaka District Awami League Vice President Ashraf Hossain Chowdhury Masud, Joint Secretary Fakhrul Alam Samar, Ashulia Thana Awami League President Farooq Hasan Tuhin, Dhaka District Jubo League Convener Mizanur Rahman alias GS Mizan, Savar Municipal Councilor Ramzan Ali, Savar Union Parishad Chairman Sohel Rana, Savar Upazila Chhatra League President Atiqur Rahman Atiq, General Secretary Feroz Kabir (35), Vice President Tipu Sultan.

On the same day, a case was filed against 432 people including former MP Saiful in Savar. The case was filed by the deceased's wife Lucky Akhter at Ashulia police station.

The deceased Abul Hossain is the son of Moni Mia of Fulghar village of Muradnagar police station in Comilla district. He was a garment factory worker.

Ashulia police station OC Abu Bakar Siddique confirmed the case. He said that the accused have been charged with conspiring with each other to commit riots, beatings and shootings with serious injuries and ordering murders.

The Awami League government fell due to the resignation and departure of Sheikh Hasina through the bloody chapter of the student revolution on August 5. On that day, Abul Hossain was shot dead at the Bypile junction when he was marching towards the police station with the victory procession. He died on the spot. He was later buried at Amtala Buri Bazar in Ashulia.

Lucky Akhter said that initially the police did not take the case. Later, when he filed a case in Amli Court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Rabeya Begum Ashulia, the police recorded the CR case as a statement on the orders of the court.
