For the first time, Sirat Mahfil was held at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital. This mahfil was organized under the banner of National Sirat Celebration Committee on Saturday.

According to organizing committee sources, waterproof mats were provided above and below the pandal of the mahfil due to continuous rain. Usually in such big mahfil the audience sits down. But due to rain, the audience was arranged to sit on chairs in the main pandal. During Asr and Maghrib prayers, most of the worshipers perform Ruku-Sijda while sitting on a chair.

After the video of this incident was circulated, there was a reaction among the scholars. They say - it is fard for a healthy person to prostrate with his forehead on the ground in prayer, here the fard has been violated due to the absence of sijda.

Many well-known scholars of the country are expressing their displeasure on social media. They are commenting that the organizers of Sirat Mahfil should have given guidance to the worshipers in this regard. Moreover, the scholars have advised those who have prayed this way to perform the same prayer again.

Muhtamim Maulana Bahauddin Zakaria of Jamia Hossainia Islamia Arzabad, one of the largest madrasas in the country, wrote, Sirat Mahfil! Is the prayer in the light of education? If the prayer is not done in the light of Sirat Mahfil, how will the society and the state lead in the light of Sirat education?

Muhaddis Maulana Ashraf Ali Nizampuri of Hathajari Madrasa, the country's largest religious institution in Chittagong, wrote that those who performed prayers sitting on chairs on the pretext of crying or water in Suhrawardy Udyan; Clear fatwa - they did not pray. Senior Muhaddith Mufti Masum Billah of Mirpur's Akbar Complex Madrasa has written that those who have the strength to prostrate on the ground, if they prostrate on a chair, the prayer is not valid. If you read like this, you have to repeat the prayer.

Mufti Rezaul Karim Abrar, General Secretary of National Ulama Mashaikh Aimma Parishad, wrote, Below is the carpet. Mufti Mahmudul Hasan, chairman of Al-Quran Research Foundation, wrote that prayers will not be done in this way. Because it is obligatory for a healthy person to prostrate with his forehead on the ground in prayer. Here there is a breach of duty due to absence of prostration. It was not a difficult matter to arrange the namaz within 10 minutes by placing the chairs on one side of the field and straightening the queue. Some acts are obligatory in prayer, one of them is prostration. Now tell me if you could walk for 10-20 minutes to a mosque or a place around this Sirat Mahfil, would you be able to do Sijda through the forehead? If the answer is yes. But there will be no prayer for sure. There is no fatwa here. This is the rule of Al-Qur'an and Hadith. This is serious neglect of prayer, may Allah give us all the right understanding, Ameen.

Al-Markazul Hanafi Chief Mufti of Bangladesh Mohammad Noman Qasemi wrote that there are six obligatory prayers. Associated with two faces. 1. Tahrima in Takbeer. 2. Kerat. Researcher scholar Maulana Saifuddin Ghazi said, it is not obligatory to listen to prayer, it is obligatory to pray! Instead, prayers should have been offered in the adjacent mosque or in a suitable place! Those who prayed in a chair without physical force, they have to repeat that prayer! A person who can sit on the floor and prostrate properly; It is not sahih for him to pray while sitting on a chair.
