Jumbangla Desk: The Ministry of Commerce has allowed seven companies of the country to import 4.5 million pieces of eggs to keep the market price stable.

 

Internal Trade-1 Branch of the Ministry of Commerce informed this information in a circular on Tuesday (October 8).


According to the notification, according to the information of the Directorate of Livestock, there is a daily demand of about 5 crore pieces of eggs in the country. At present, this import permission has been allowed for a limited period of time considering the market situation of eggs and to keep the market price stable. The import permit expires on 31/12/2024 AD. will remain in force until


It is also said that among the institutions, M/s Mim Enterprises of Dhaka's Dakshin Jatrabari got one crore pieces, Messrs. Taosin Traders of Jessore Chowrasta intersection got one crore pieces, Messrs. Sumon Traders of Lobsha area of ​​Satkhira got two million pieces, Alif Traders of Bhagi area of ​​Rangpur got three million pieces, Himalaya of Motijheel commercial area of ​​the capital. One crore pieces, M/s Prime Care Bangladesh of Shantinagar 50 lakh pieces and M/s Zaman Traders of Tejkunipara have been allowed to import 50 lakh pieces of eggs.


Conditions under which eggs can be imported: (a) Zoning/compartmentalization certificate/declaration must be submitted by the Competent Authority of the exporting country in favor of bird flu free zoning/compartmentalization as per the guidelines of The World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH);


(b) each consignment of imported eggs shall be furnished with a certificate of freedom from avian influenza or bird flu virus and harmful bacteria issued by the competent authority designated/authorized by the Government of the exporting country;

(c) to comply with the payment of net-tax and other regulations prescribed by the Government;

 

(d) Importation of eggs shall be notified to the relevant quarantine officer at least 15 (fifteen) days prior to shipment;


A progress report must be submitted to the Ministry of Commerce after 7 days of receiving the import permit.
