Spanish legend Andres Iniesta has ended his football career. He completed his 40th career by winning all possible titles for Barcelona and the Spanish national team. Former Barcelona captain Lionel Messi was overwhelmed with emotion at the departure of his long-time teammate.

Several days ago, Iniesta hinted at his retirement on social media. He officially confirmed his retirement in a video message on Monday (October 8).

Messi gave an emotional message about his friend on his Instagram story after announcing his retirement. Wrote, 'One of the magical teammates and one of the people I enjoyed playing with the most. Ball will miss you, and so will we. Good luck to you, you're amazing.'

Incidentally, Messi and Iniesta were teammates for more than a century in the Spanish club Barcelona. Barcelona saw a golden age at their feet. During this time they won the Champions League four times in a decade. Along with bringing home many other titles including seven La Ligas. And an important role in these successes was Messi, the star of the attack, and Iniesta, one of the midfield heroes.
