Jumbangla Desk: Police have recovered 31 loads of gold ornaments stolen from a house in Ramna of the capital. Three maids involved in this incident have also been arrested. This information was informed in a press release signed by Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Police Commissioner of Media and Public Relations of DMP on Saturday (October 12).

The three domestic workers arrested are: Tanzina Akhtar Faria and Kahinur Begum and Nazma Akhtar alias Laiju.

According to the notification, on August 16, a woman named Rokhsana Majumdar brought the gold ornaments kept in the bank locker and kept them in the cupboard of her house on Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue in Iskaton Garden area of ​​Ramnar. Later, on October 8, he opened the cupboard and saw that 44 gold ornaments and five diamond rings were missing. The estimated value of which is 52 lakhs.

The housewife filed a theft case at Ramna Model Police Station last Thursday (October 10). The house's permanent housekeepers Tanzina Akhter Faria and Kohinoor Begum and temporary housekeeper Najma Akhter alias Laiju are accused in the case.

Ramna police station, with the help of information and technology, raided the Kakrail area on the afternoon of the case and arrested domestic workers Tanzina Akhtar Faria and Kohinur Begum on suspicion of theft. When the two were sent to court on Friday (October 11), Tanzina Akhter Faria gave a confessional statement under Section 164.

In his deposition, he mentioned that along with him, the arrested Kahinur Begum and Nazma Akhter Laiju were involved in the theft incident. The court granted a two-day remand to Kohinoor Begum. Based on the information received by him, 8 gold ornaments were recovered from Kohinoor's bedroom.

Later, a rented house in Ramana area was raided on Friday night. Najma Akhter Laizoo was arrested. At that time 16 bhari 15 anna 4 rati gold ornaments were recovered from him.

The police raided the Karwan Bazar gold market with the arrested Laiju to recover the remaining gold. 2 bhori 12 annas 4 rati in molten state from Ananya Jewelers and 3 bhori 8 annas 3 rati in molten state were recovered from Nusrat Jewellers.
