A study by the University of Curacao in Spain shed some light on who is more prone to alienation. The study, led by researcher Miguel Clement, says that people with 'narcissism' are more prone to repeated alienation. In psychology, narcissism is typically characterized by self-loathing, self-aggrandizement, arrogance, and a lack of empathy for others.


In Miguel's words, “People with dark personality traits can easily engage in short-term relationships. The main reason for this is that such expectations from potential partners are very low. This trend is more common in men.''

The study of 308 people ranged in age from 18 to 25. 78.3 percent of the total participants were women. 21.2 percent were men. But keep in mind that psychological research is extremely complex. So it is unwise to form an opinion based on a single survey.
