Jumbangla Desk: Two motorcycle riding sisters died after being hit by a truck in Bogra's Sherpur. Motorcyclist Rakibul Islam was seriously injured in this incident.
Death of two sisters
The accident took place in front of Amera Gas Pump in Bhavanipur Union of Upazila around 8:30 am on Sunday (October 13).
The deceased are Nupur Akhtar (22), daughter of Nazrul Islam and wife of motorcycle driver Rakibul of South Gridari village of Gaibandha and Runa Akhtar (18), daughter of Abdur Rashid of the same area.
Deceased Nupur and Runa are cousins. Rakibul, who was injured along with them, worked in a garment factory in Gazipur, Dhaka.
Abidul Islam, in charge of Sherpur Highway Police Camp, said Nupur Akhter's mother died at night. On hearing the news, Nupur Akhtar, her husband Rakibul Islam and cousin Runa Akhtar left on a motorcycle.
The motorcycle fell on the road when it reached in front of Amera Gas Pump in Bhavanipur Union of Sherpur Upazila. Nupur Akhtar and Runa Akhtar died on the spot after being hit by a truck behind them. The driver Rakibul Islam was seriously injured. Later, the fire service workers rescued the injured and sent them to Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

Abidul Islam also said that the truck could not be arrested as it ran away. The body has been handed over to the family after the legal process in the incident.
