26 very poor countries face poor economic conditions

This information has emerged in a report of the World Bank published on Sunday (October 13). It is said that 40% of the world's poor people live in these countries. Armed conflicts, institutional weaknesses and natural disasters are increasing the risk in these countries. Most countries lack foreign investment due to instability. And as a result of natural calamities there is a negative growth of GDP of 2% per annum.

According to the report, these countries are now poorer than they were before the Covid-19 pandemic. But the economy of the rest of the world has recovered a lot.


The World Bank is planning to collect more than one billion dollars to help these countries through the International Development Agency (IDA).

Most of the affected countries are located in sub-Saharan Africa, but the list also includes Afghanistan and Yemen. The World Bank recommends increasing tax collection and improving government spending efficiency for economic stability.
