It is known that there is an Eidga, a village cemetery and a shrine of Reza Shah Chishti (Shah Valai) on the banks of the Mathabhanga river in Kusaghata village of the upazila. Devotees built shrines around this place known as Shah Valai Dargah on 33rd century land. A tiled restroom, kitchen and bathroom were built at the shrine with donations from devotees. People from far and wide used to come here every Thursday to take vows to fulfill their wishes.

Also the followers of Baul Dhara stayed here and practiced sadhana music. In the last anti-discrimination student movement, 20-25 local miscreants attacked and vandalized everything in the evening and the following evening on the occasion of changing the political pot. The grave of a person named Khwaja Uddin of that village was also vandalized in the cemetery next to the shrine.

Residents of the village said that Reza Shah Chishti was a preacher. About 350 years ago, he came to that area to preach Islam. Then this area was barren forest. Slowly the human society started to develop. Since the shrine was attacked and vandalized, none of the servants approached the shrine out of fear. 20 to 25 local miscreants are involved in this work. They are the ones who loot the name of BNP and Jamaat, including destroying shrines, which the people of the area know and have seen.

According to the locals, in this shrine, any kind of alcohol, ganja, any kind of cigarettes and bidis were prohibited. No drugs were consumed.

The shrine was commissioned by a devotee of Chuadanga Sadar at a cost of Tk 570,000. The miscreants looted the steel gate of the shrine's main gate. Many locals said that they looted the door grill of another house, sold it and had a picnic in the shrine grounds. They have taken away more than 130 tins and even the bricks used in the shrine. Villagers are now not revealing anyone's name out of fear.

The local people also said that when the administration officials conduct an on-site investigation, the names of the local miscreants in the area will be disclosed to them and the looted goods from the shrine will be told in whose house.

After making a vow at the shrine, when the hope of the heart was fulfilled, a family came to the shrine on Thursday, October 10, to pay the vows. Miscreants of the area forcefully snatched Khasi from people who had come to take vows.

After having two daughters, a couple from Hauli UP in the upazila did not have any more children for 8 years. After coming to the shrine, a son was born. Name Rahmat Ali. After its birth a vowed Khasi is taken there by miscreants who ill-treat them.

They said, no sin will be done here. You leave now or you will be in trouble. The couple then saw that the shrine had been completely demolished. When the new son gave the khasi rope to Rahmat Ali, he let it go and someone picked it up.

Expressing their anger, the couple said, "Allah's shrines are not to be broken, it rains curses." Every Thursday Manat Sinni was cooked here and distributed to the poor people of the area.

If you look crazy, go and see if they are our parents or not

President of Mazar Committee Jalal Uddin and General Secretary Moslem Uddin said that there was no anti-social activity here. The shrine was magnificently built with donations. After the change of political pot, everything has been crushed and mixed with the soil. This shrine is an important part of the religious history of Damurhuda Upazila and surrounding areas. The local residents sought the assistance of the district and upazila administration in taking necessary measures for the reconstruction and security of the shrine.
