HSC and equivalent exam results have been declared. The average pass rate in 11 education boards including 9 general and madrasa and technical boards is 77.78 percent.

This time, 1 lakh 45 thousand 911 people got GPA-5 in HSC and equivalent exams across the country.

Among them 48 thousand 548 in Dhaka board, 24 thousand 902 in Rajshahi board, 7 thousand 922 in Comilla board, 9 thousand 749 in Jessore board, 5 thousand 759 in Chittagong board, 4 thousand 167 in Barisal board, 6 thousand 698 in Sylhet board, 14 thousand 295 in Dinajpur board, 4 thousand 826 in Mymensingh Board, 9 thousand 613 in Madrasa Education Board, 4 thousand 922 in Technical Education Board got GPA-5.

From June 30 this year, the HSC and equivalent examinations started simultaneously across the country. This time there were 14 lakh 50 thousand 790 candidates all over the country. Due to the violence surrounding the quota reform movement, the exams on July 18, 21, 23 and 25, 28 and August 1 and 4 were postponed. Finally, the Board of Inter-Education released the new time table from September 11. After that the candidates demanded not to take the remaining exams. In the face of students' demands, the government announced the results through subject mapping without taking the exam.

After that, a proposal was sent from the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee to the Ministry of Education to give the result of the postponed examination by subject mapping. And the tests which have been held will be evaluated. According to the proposal, the result of the examination will be determined based on the marks obtained by adding 25 percent of the subject-wise marks obtained for JSC and 75 percent for HSC.

After the proposal, the ministry decided that the results of the postponed examinations should be given only on the basis of HSC examination marks. According to that decision, it is proposed to prepare the results of the examination and fix the date of declaration of results from the education boards.
