Through this, the students will get the necessary training and mentorship opportunities for building a career in freelancing. The aim of this initiative is to fill the gap in the job market, open up economic opportunities and make the new generation skilled. Through this, a new era will begin for the youth of Bangladesh.
 
The recently held 'Freelancing Factory' initiative was inaugurated at GP House in Dhaka. Mentors introduced the project framework to the participants through a workshop at the inaugural event. They highlighted various aspects of this initiative and answered various questions of the students. The mentors leading the project provide important insights on how the project will help you succeed in freelancing.
 
The program includes a total of 64 interactive online classes in two separate batches; which focuses on UX/UI design and web development through WordPress. The mentor-led program aims to enable students to earn $100 in three months and $1,000 in eight months.
 
A large number of young people enter the Bangladesh job market every year, resulting in a huge increase in employment demand; But compared to that the scope is very limited. On the other hand, the global freelancing platform has millions of job opportunities that are reserved for freelancers. Grameenphone Academy is teaching students the necessary skills to utilize these opportunities. This will enable them to succeed in freelancing and become financially independent.
 
 
Grameenphone CEO Yasir Azman shared his personal expectations about freelancing.
 
He listened attentively to the inspiring stories of the participants, where participants like a participant from Amtali, Barguna, and a hearing-impaired B.Sc. Engineer, exuded hope for a bright future. Their stories touched Ajman deeply. The stories highlight the tenacity of the younger generation and their determination to take on new opportunities. Ajman highlighted the profound impact of initiatives like 'Freelancing Factory', which will help in fulfilling the mission of empowering the youth and enriching the freelancing community in the country.
 
Grameenphone Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Hans Martin Henriksson (CCAO) highlights the numerous opportunities that exist in freelancing for students. He pointed out that 40 percent of the participants in this program are women and 19 percent of the students are from outside Dhaka, which makes it diverse. This diversity not only enriches the learning environment, but also reflects a commitment to inclusion and empowerment. This is crucial for fostering creativity and innovation in the freelancing world.
 
Grameenphone Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Syeda Tahia Hussain gave an encouraging speech to the participants. He advised them to enhance their skills and urged them to explore opportunities in different fields. Emphasizing the importance of broadening perspectives, he notes that each new skill can create opportunities for students to make meaningful contributions to their personal and professional lives.
 
About 12,000 students are connected through GP Academy's Facebook group and learning management system. Out of these more than 600 students applied and 106 students were finally selected after screening and interviews conducted by mentors.
