Students protested by blocking the Dhaka-Kurigram road for one and a half hours. At that time, they arrested the two attackers and handed them over to the university administration.
It is known that on Tuesday (October 15) around 7 o'clock in the evening two outsiders molested a university student in front of the main gate. Abdullah Al Mamun, Mustafa Kamal and Bidhan Roy, 12 batch students of the University's Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, protested this incident.
At that time, the two outsider youths called 10-15 more people and beat the student Mamun, Mustafa Kamal. After that, the students of different departments of the university came forward and the two sides clashed. Three more students of the university were injured.
Students blocked the Dhaka-Kurigram road demanding punishment for those involved in the incident. Later, around 12 o'clock in the night, the students caught the two youths involved in molestation and handed them over to the university administration. At that time, the vice-chancellor assured to punish those responsible and lifted the blockade.
Shamsur Rahman Sumon, a student of the university, said that after a few days locals came to the campus and caused various unpleasant incidents. Not only that, it also causes incidents like theft and robbery. Before this, they could get away with the fear of Awami League. But this time we will not give more concessions.
Professor Dr. Begum Rokeya University Vice-Chancellor. Md. Shaukat Ali said that the arrested foreigners are in the custody of two proctors. Their questioning is going on. Talked to the police and administration. Those responsible must be punished by law.
