Just a few months ago, Ismail Haniya, the political head of Hamas, was killed in Iran. Yahya Sinwar became the new head of Hamas in his place. Sinwar is believed to be the mastermind behind the sudden surprise attack on Israel on October 7 last year.
Sinwar was killed in an Israeli raid on a building in Rafah, southern Gaza on Wednesday. After his death, the pro-Iranian Hezbollah fighting in Lebanon has warned that they are going to enter a new phase of war against Israel. The armed group, an ally of Iran, has guided missiles. They have not used this weapon against Israel for a long time.
Daily Sabah gave this news in a report today.
In a statement on Friday morning, Hezbollah said a new phase in the war against Israel was beginning. From now on, precision-guided missiles will be used to target Israeli air troops.
The statement added that the war with the Israeli enemy is heralding a transition to a new and escalating phase. Precision guided missiles are being used for the first time.
Hezbollah says 55 Israeli soldiers have been killed since launching a ground offensive in Lebanon on October 1. In addition, at least more than 500 Israeli soldiers and officers were injured at the same time.
Earlier, Israeli forces said that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was killed in an operation conducted last Wednesday and this information was confirmed after the process of identifying his body.
Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Daniel Hagari confirmed on Thursday that Sinwar was killed in Rafah's Tal al-Sultan area.
