After being submerged in the water of Kaptai lake for almost two months, the beautiful suspension bridge of Rangamati was resurfaced. The bridge stood high after the lake water receded from Patatan on Thursday. The bridge regained the attraction of tourists.

Earlier, due to heavy rains in the district, the water level of the Kaptai lake rose due to the upstream hills, and the beautiful hanging bridge located at the motel and holiday complex of the Rangamati Tourism Corporation sank from last August 23.

Going to the surface, it can be seen that people have been walking on the hanging bridge of Rangamati since Friday morning as the water receded. People are walking across the bridge. The cleaning work of the bridge is going on so that the tourists can move smoothly.

Tourists visiting from the neighboring district of Chittagong said. Ziaul Islam said, before this we came to know about the sinking of the suspension bridge. So I canceled the plan to visit Rangamati. Now I came to visit Rangamati after getting the news that the bridge was floating.

Vijay Kar, a tourist from Narsingdi said, I am very happy to come to Rangamati and visit the bridge. So it feels good.

Vice President of Rangamati Tourist Boat Owners Association Ramzan Ali said that this suspension bridge is the main attraction for tourists visiting Rangamati. Tourists visiting Rangamati had to turn back disappointed as the bridge was submerged in water for a long time. As the rain stopped, the bridge floated. It is hoped that the number of tourists will increase in Rangamati from now on.

Alok Vikas Chakma, manager of Rangamati Tourism Motel and Holiday Complex, said that the hanging bridge has been washed away due to low water in Kaptai Lake. Now some renovation work is going on. The ban on people crossing the bridge has been lifted. As the bridge sank, the Rangamati Tourism Corporation suffered a financial loss of Rs 60,000 to 70,000 per day. However, if the arrival of tourists also increases, that loss can be compensated.
