The government advised Shakib not to come to the country for the time being due to protests by common cricket lovers and security concerns. As a result, he does not have the opportunity to leave in white with the Test series against South Africa. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) also announced the name of Hasan Murad as his replacement for the first Test against the Proteas on Friday.

Meanwhile, some Shakib fans gathered in front of gate number two at Mirpur Stadium from 3 pm. They held banners and chanted for Shakib. Protesters claim that they want to see off Shakib from the field.

Fans are saying that Shakib can leave this Mirpur stadium. He served the country for 17 years. We want to send him off the field. We want Shakib in the team against South Africa.

On the other hand, the anti-Shakib party went to the BCB office along with the protest and submitted a memorandum on Thursday. The memorandum warns of strict agitation in the future if it is not confirmed that Shakib can no longer play on the soil of the country.
