Israel has demanded the killing of Yahya Sinwar, the head of the Palestinian independence armed group Hamas. However, nothing has been clearly stated about this killing by Hamas. A senior official of the group said on Friday that the Palestinian group cannot be eliminated by killing its leaders.
Bassem Naim, a senior member of Hamas' political bureau, told AFP. He said, Hamas is a freedom movement, led by a group of people who want freedom and dignity.
"It seems that Israel believes that killing our leaders will end our movement and the struggle of the Palestinian people," Naim said.
Hamas has become stronger and more popular each time and these leaders have become an icon for future generations to continue the journey towards a free Palestine.
On the one hand, Hamas says that it is impossible to eliminate Hamas by killing the leader. On the other hand, the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah says that by killing Sinwar, Hezbollah's war with Israel has reached a new level. In other words, Hizbollah can launch a bigger attack on Israel this time.
Incidentally, since October 7 last year, the number of people killed in Gaza has exceeded 42,000.
